California Healthy Kids Survey

This survey is endorsed by the California Department of Education. The California Healthy Kids Survey gives us direct feedback from students about their safety and well being at school. It is required by schools that receive Federal funding for Safe and Drug Free Schools. Data from the survey are also required by several State and Federal grants. We encourage all students to participate in the survey.

Beginning August 15, 2005 all modules of this survey used by the Fresno Unified School District will be available on line for parent and community review.

WHAT IS IN THE SURVEY?

The survey gathers information on behaviors such as physical activity and nutritional habits; alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use; school safety; and environmental and individual strengths and assets. You may examine the questionnaire by clicking on the links on the left side of the page.

It is anonymous. No names will be recorded or attached to the survey forms or data.

Evaluation. It is used to evaluate the performance of our District and its schools in providing a safe learning environment.

It is voluntary. Your child does not have to take the survey. Students who participate only have to answer the questions they want to answer and they may stop taking it at any time.

Administration. The survey will be administered in the Fall semester of each school year. It will take about one class period to complete (about 50 minutes).
