Description
Students will research and then create their own Document Based Question (DBQ) in European History. The DBQ should follow the format used on the Advanced Placement examination, and students should observe the following guidelines:
1. The question should be phrased using one of the following key terms or phrases: (See Arco 2nd Ed. pp. 29-43; Barron's, 2nd Ed. pp. 17-23 or Princeton Review 1999-2000 Ed pp. 35-47)

BARRONS AP REVIEW REA AP REVIEW PRINCETON AP REVIEW ARCO AP REVIEW 2. The DBQ must include a Historical Background paragraph providing a brief summary of important historical information.
3. The DBQ must contain a minimum of 8 and a maximum of 10 primary source documents. These documents should consist of journals, letters, diaries, memories, newspaper articles, poems, photographs, paintings, speeches, maps, laws or proclamations, quotations, and political cartoons.
4. At least one of each of the following must be included:

Map
Painting Political Cartoon, or Photograph
Letter, Diary, Memories, Speech or Journal entry
Law, Proclamation, Legal or Government Document
5. The DBQ should be typed and checked for spelling and grammar.
6. Each document must be identified by the author, title and date of the work. (See previous DBQ's, Barron's or Princeton guides for examples.)
7. The DBQ must include a Works Cited list, indicating the source for each document. This should follow the appropriate writing guide.
Essay Response: Students should turn in an essay answering the DBQ. This will be evaluated according to the 9-point AP scale and will count for 100 points! Please use the Score Core method for grading
