How to Enroll

You are welcome in our schools! Look at Fresno Unified's school boundary maps to determine which school your children will attend. If you need additional assistance call (559) 457-3351 and provide your residence address. Children may be enrolled at their neighborhood school weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. with a parent or guardian present.

If your child is currently receiving special services, contact Fresno Unified's Special Education department at (559) 457-3220.

Children entering kindergarten must be five years old on or before December 2. The following items must be presented upon registration:
  • The child's birth certificate or other proof of age, such as a passport or hospital record of birth.

  • Proof of residence in the attendance area, such as a rent receipt, utility bill or property tax statement.

  • Immunization records indicating current Polio, DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus), MMR (mumps, measles and rubella), and tuberculosis skin test. In addition, hepatitis B and a second measles are needed for kindergarten and seventh grade. Varicella (Chicken Pox) is also required for kindergarten and out-of-state entrants grades 1-12.

  • Child's social security number or card. (Optional)

  • Proof of a recent physical examination for entrance to kindergarten must be dated on or after March 1, 2010, for the 2010-2011 school year. Physicals for first grade must be within 18 months prior to entering first grade.

State law requires all 7th graders, new or currently enrolled, to complete the series of three hepatitis B immunizations and measles immunizations prior to being admitted to school.

New enrolling Middle and High School Students - Please bring a copy of your grades and drop slip from your previous district.
