Description of course:

This course offers on-the-job training in financial institutions such as:  banks, accounting offices, credit unions, finance divisions of City and County offices, finance companies, mortgage firms and title companies.  Students are provided the opportunity to develop an understanding of the many careers available in the field of finance.  Continued education is encouraged as students learn about the educational requirements necessary to enter these careers.   Career exploration is achieved through research, speakers, field trips, job shadowing and on-the-job training.  Students will also learn about personal finances and how to prepare for real credit and finance responsibilities ahead.

Virtual Enterprise

Description of course:

In the Virtual Enterprise class, students and their teacher, their coordinator, setup a "Virtual Practice Firm," often with the help of outside business partners.  The students, the company employees, create product or service concepts to develop a virtual business plan.  They establish departments with appropriate personnel and manage the day-to-day business throughout the fiscal/academic year.  The goal is to create a profitable company so that each school year a new group of students can enter and manage the business.
