Fresno High Department of Performing
Arts
The Department of Performing Arts is made up of
four credentialed staff members and various
consultants who assist in the variety of our course
offerings. Mr. Dave Ruffner is the band director
who oversees the jazz, marching and concert bands.
Mr. Jeff Sandersier has the orchestra, piano, and
choir classes and is assisted by Armen Ketendjian
as choir accompanist.
Ms. Chris Chambers is a new addition to the
theatre department with an assignment in the 9th
grade Intro semester class. Mr. Bill Weatherford
teaches the Theater Movement and Drama I, II, III,
IV classes and is the play production teacher. He
is assisted by Mr. George Sawatzke in set
construction, Ms. Dawn Savory in voice, and Mrs.
Erin Janssen's in dance.
Fresno High has one of the strongest and most
active performing arts programs in the Valley. Our
students perform, travel and compete throughout the
state. We also give students great enrichment
opportunities and a respect for diversity in the
