Community Connections and Outreach Services
Parent/Community Liaison
Highly qualified Hmong and Spanish-speaking liaisons offer parent orientations, workshops and outreach activities to increase parent support and involvement, and to create greater parent access to the educational system.
Newcomers’ Counselor
Bilingual outreach counselors provide articulation between the Academy and receiving schools, and between school and home. The counselor also assures that students receive proper credit and placement in the school system.
Mentoring Program
Adult and peer mentors meet with newcomer students to ease transitional concerns and for tutoring, guidance, and acculturation.
Health Services
A campus nurse will provide on-site medical services and health referrals for all students enrolled. The Academy has a full-time Health Aide fluent in English and Hmong.
Onsite provided services include:
- Healthly Smiles - Dental Care Services provided by Fresno County
- Health Services by FUSD provides on-site immunization.
Mental health services will also be available.
