The Core Rules of Netiquette are excerpted from the book Netiquette by Virginia Shea Rule 1 Remember the Human. The Golden Rule: Try and put yourself in the other person's shoes. Stand up for yourself but don't hurt peoples feelings. Rule 2 Have the same level of standard behavior online that you follow in real life. Rule 3 Know where you are in cyberspace. Sometime sarcasiam, humor and jokes are perfectly fine, face to face. But in cyberspace know your audience. Rule 4 Respect other peoples privacy. Rule 5 Be forgiving of other people's mistakes.
